Kotobukiya Co-Puche Dark Magician Girl – Articulation Review
The head, upper body and lower body are separable. The mechanism of the head is similar to Nendoroid series, consist of front hair, back hair and the face parts.
A little prank with the scared face. XD
Upper body. The hood is removable and adjustable for the arm movement. Both arm are removable and be careful when you pull out the hands for the first time. It is very tight so please SLOWLY and GENTLY pull them out. After few hand switching they should be fine.
The hip and legs. Although it is very little movement but the ankles are adjustable! The knee can bend about 90 degrees, slightly limited due to the boots design.
Inside the back hair part and the helmet, the blocks have magnet inside them. It is pretty strong and the helmet won’t drop even if she is upside down.
There are magnets at the feet too. These magnet will stick very well on the stand’s metal piece, allow the figure to stand firm on it.
Kotobukiya Co-Puche Dark Magician Girl Figure – Accessories Review
This is a pleasant surprise. Kotobukiya actually included a zip lock bag for the accessories, allow the collectors to easily organized the tiny parts. I only saw similar bag on my Figma Drossel, not sure it all Figma figures have the bag.
The stand comes with 2 adjustable holders and they can be tighten with metal screws. There are many holes around the stands for collector to customize according to their liking. As you can see in the picture, there are 2 types of holders, one of them is actually bigger. The meta piece on the stage is meant for the feet’s magnet.
The book comes with nice details and you can open it by removing the holder at the side. But there is nothing written inside. The top round part of the Magician Staff is removable so the hand can fit into the handle.
The heart shape sign and the star sign can fit into a small gap at the side of the helmet. DO NOT FORCE them into the gap, they have to be fit in at a certain angle.

Just to clarify, the green energy wave and the lightning effect parts are borrowed from Bandai Super Robot Chogokin.
Kotobukiya Co-Puche Dark Magician Girl Figure Review – Conclusion
After some playing and tweaking with the Kotobukiya Co-Puche Dark Magician Girl, it is a nicely designed action figure that comes with many surprises. The price quite friendly and it is similar to a Nendoroid (around 3500 yen) however you get many bonus like movable limbs, magnets and good stand.
In comparison of material and paint job, Co-Puche uses PVC which is softer and durable. It might not has the good smooth, solid vinyl feel surface like Nendoroid but I enjoyed playing with the Dark Magician Girl without worrying which part might be scratch, fall and break. However, Nendoroid’s paint job is better, especially the gradient colour and the slight glossy look of her hair.
This is my first Co-Puche so I’m not sure if Kotobukiya has the same gimmicks and quality for the older ones. Overall this is definitely a must-get figure, especially when you are a Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Magician Girl fans. Other figures of her are quite expensive to collect.
